3-day itinerary

Enough time to see the essentials properly without racing between districts. Built around three loose themes, one per day.

Day 1 — Skyline & KLCC

Ease in. Morning: Petronas Towers (book a mid-morning slot to dodge both crowds and heat). Afternoon: wander KLCC Park and Suria KLCC's food court for lunch. Evening: catch the park's fountain show at sunset, then dinner in Bukit Bintang, finishing with a walk down Jalan Alor.

Day 2 — Heritage core

Morning: Merdeka Square and the colonial core, then walk to Petaling Street for lunch among the market stalls. Afternoon: Brickfields for a banana leaf meal and a look at its temples. Evening: a rooftop bar for skyline views from a different angle than day one — see our viewpoints guide.

Day 3 — Day trip: Batu Caves

Go early — see our full Batu Caves guide for why morning matters here. Back in the city by early afternoon, with time for a last bit of shopping or a second visit to whichever neighbourhood you liked best. If temples aren't your thing, swap this day for Thean Hou Temple and Perdana Botanical Gardens instead — both closer to the centre.

Local tip

Don't schedule Batu Caves for your last morning before a flight — it's a genuine excursion, not a quick stop, and traffic back into the city is unpredictable.

New guides land weekly.
