For travellers, the appeal is straightforward: this is a chance to see Malaysian heritage craft in the same event frame as broader international artisanal work, without needing to build separate day trips around specialist workshops or regional craft centres. The practical catch is equally simple: the official listing is still light on operational detail, so this is a save-the-dates-now, re-check-before-you-go story rather than a minute-by-minute itinerary.

Tourism Malaysia’s current event listing gives four core facts: 24 September–5 October 2026, Kuala Lumpur Craft Complex as the venue, Kraftangan Malaysia as organiser, and a programme concept built around heritage arts, local craft and global artisanal products.

The listing places MICF under Visit Malaysia’s arts-and-culture event programme. That is useful context because it tells visitors what this event is meant to be: not simply a generic shopping fair, but a craft-and-heritage showcase with a national tourism audience.

What the live listing does not currently give is just as important. Those are permanent venue facilities; they should not be read as a promise that every one of them will be used for MICF.

Jalan Conlay puts the venue in central Kuala Lumpur, close to the Bukit Bintang / KLCC side of the city. That makes the fair easier to combine with an existing central-KL day than an event on the metropolitan fringe.
