Red Bull Power Race Malaysia 2026 Hits Bukit Jalil Today: Times, LRT Shuttle & Spectator Guide

Kuala Lumpur has plenty of runs, but this one is trying to establish a new race category. Red Bull describes Power Race as a fast fitness competition built around speed, strength and endurance, with four 400-metre runs broken up by bodyweight exercises. Malaysia’s edition is part of the event’s inaugural international season and is designed to produce a national squad for the regional final in Bangkok.

That makes Sunday relevant beyond the athletes with bibs. Pavilion Bukit Jalil is treating the weekend as a public event, with spectators invited to watch, interactive activations and live performances alongside the competition. If you are already shopping, eating or meeting friends around Bukit Jalil, expect a busier Piazza and more movement around the mall’s main approaches throughout the day.

01 · What is happening at Pavilion Bukit Jalil today?

The main competition takes place on Sunday 13 September 2026 at the Piazza, Pavilion Bukit Jalil. The official Red Bull event page gives an event-day window of 7:00am–10:00pm. Competitor registration opens at 7:00am and the first heat is scheduled to flag off at 9:00am.

Participants are told to arrive at least 90 minutes before their scheduled heat slot. The organiser also provides a secure bag-drop area linked to bib numbers. Those details matter mainly to competitors, but they are useful to spectators too: the action builds from early morning and the venue is expected to have athlete movement long before the first race starts.

The current official listing shows an event price of RM159. That is presented on the competition page and should be treated as the participant price. The same page separately says spectators and the public are welcome; it does not, however, clearly publish a separate spectator admission price or a blanket “free spectator entry” promise. If admission rules matter to your plans, check the live event page before travelling.

02 · How the Power Race format works

Red Bull’s Malaysian event information describes Power Race as a new fitness-race format combining four 400-metre runs with bodyweight exercise stations. It is designed to reward speed and all-round conditioning without specialised race equipment.

The Kuala Lumpur event progresses through qualification heats and a National Showdown. The top 12 men and 12 women earn places at the Red Bull Power Race International Final in Bangkok on 18 October 2026, where Malaysian qualifiers are scheduled to meet leading athletes from Thailand, Myanmar and Indonesia.

Red Bull says qualifiers receive flights, accommodation and event entry for the Bangkok final. That raises the stakes considerably above a typical local fitness challenge: the Sunday race is effectively Malaysia’s selection event for the international finale of the first Power Race season.

03 · What spectators can expect

The official event information says the public is welcome across the Power Race weekend. Saturday’s pre-event programme ran from 10:00am to 8:00pm with activities, an Influencer Run and music; Sunday is the full competition day, with the race plus live performances by DJ Baby Wasabii and other local artists.

For a casual visitor, the sensible approach is to treat the Piazza as a live event space rather than assume you can walk straight through it like a normal mall forecourt. There may be controlled athlete areas, sponsor activations, queues and temporary circulation changes around the race course even though Pavilion Bukit Jalil itself remains a major shopping centre.

If your main reason for visiting is a specific athlete, heat or showdown stage, check the live event timetable before setting out. The official public page confirms the 9:00am first heat and overall day window, but it does not provide a complete minute-by-minute schedule for every heat in the text currently published.

04 · LRT and free shuttle: the simplest public-transport option

The organiser’s own transport advice is straightforward: take the LRT to Awan Besar Station, then use the free shuttle bus to Pavilion Bukit Jalil’s Main Entrance. The shuttle is advertised to operate every 20 to 30 minutes.

That option is especially useful if you are going mainly to watch. A full-day event can create uneven arrival and departure peaks, while the shuttle removes the need to search for a parking space near the Piazza. Allow a little buffer rather than timing your train to the minute; the published 20–30-minute shuttle interval is a frequency guide, not a guaranteed door-to-door journey time.

For e-hailing, Red Bull tells visitors to use Pavilion Bukit Jalil – Bukit Jalil Entrance (Main Entrance) as the pickup/drop-off point. As always with a major event, the most practical pickup spot can change with crowd control, so follow mall or marshal instructions if they differ from the map pin.

05 · Driving and parking at the Piazza

If you are driving, the event page identifies the Orange Zone basement car park as the nearest and most convenient parking for the Piazza. Drivers are directed to Car Park Entrance C or Entrance B, approached from Lebuhraya Bukit Jalil or Jalan Persiaran Jalil Utama, then to follow signs for the Orange Zone and Piazza.

Neither the official event page nor Pavilion’s current event listing publishes a special Power Race road-closure notice in the material we verified. We are therefore not claiming that surrounding roads are closed. The practical issue is event traffic and parking demand, not a confirmed blanket closure. If police, Pavilion management or a newer traffic notice sets temporary access rules on the day, follow the live instruction.

06 · What this means if you are visiting Pavilion Bukit Jalil for something else

Pavilion Bukit Jalil’s own current events calendar lists Red Bull Power Race across 12–13 September, alongside several other mall events this weekend. That means shoppers and diners should expect the complex to be active even if they have no interest in the race.

The Piazza is the focal point, so people with restaurant bookings, cinema plans or shopping trips should allow for extra pedestrian traffic around that zone. If you are meeting someone, choose a clear indoor landmark rather than “the Piazza entrance” if the forecourt is busy. If you need a fast departure after a fixed-time appointment, the Awan Besar LRT/shuttle combination may be more predictable than waiting for a car at the busiest point.

There is no reason to treat Bukit Jalil as inaccessible. The better assumption is simply that one of Pavilion’s large public spaces is hosting a long, high-energy event from morning until night.

07 · A practical Sunday plan

• Watching rather than racing? Check the live Red Bull page before leaving, then use Awan Besar LRT plus the free shuttle if that suits your route.
• Racing? Follow your assigned heat slot and the organiser’s instruction to arrive 90 minutes early; bring your bib for bag drop.
• Driving? Aim for the Orange Zone and use Entrance B or C, but leave margin for normal event-day parking queues.
• Using Grab or another e-hailing service? Set Pavilion Bukit Jalil – Bukit Jalil Entrance (Main Entrance), then follow live access instructions.
• Only shopping or dining? Expect the Piazza area to be livelier and potentially more crowded than a standard Sunday.
• Chasing the National Showdown? Re-check the official event timetable rather than relying on a social post or an old screenshot.

The event runs until 10:00pm, so there is no need to arrive at sunrise unless you are competing early or specifically want the first heats. For most spectators, a targeted visit around the part of the competition you care about will be more comfortable than trying to spend fifteen hours around the venue.

08 · What we are deliberately not guessing

The official sources we checked do not clearly state a separate spectator ticket price, a guaranteed spectator capacity, a detailed public heat-by-heat timetable, or a special road-closure plan. We have not invented any of those details.

The RM159 price on the event page is presented with the race registration information and should not be casually republished as a spectator admission fee. Likewise, “spectators and the public are welcome” is not the same as a promise that every restricted race area is freely accessible. On-the-day venue rules take priority.

Weather, athlete withdrawals and operational needs can also alter outdoor-event timing. If you are travelling specifically for a particular race segment, use the organiser’s current event page as your last check.
